Robert J. Nader (“Bob”) has been a civil trial lawyer in Florida and Texas for 40 years and an individual general practitioner for over 33 years.  He began his career as an associate attorney with a large commercial and tax law firm in Houston, Texas.  He returned to Tampa and became associated with a small firm prior to opening his own law practice in 1988.

 

Since 2012, Bob's practice began to primarily focus on providing mediation services.

 

He has handled cases in the areas of business litigation, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, commercial collections, condominium law, family law, labor and employment, personal injury, replevin, civil theft, foreclosures, landlord-tenant and other legal matters.

 

Starting in 1992, Bob represented General Electric Capital Corporation, GE Healthcare Financial Services, and GE Medical Systems, as lead counsel for 22 consecutive years, in over 300 State, Federal, and Bankruptcy cases in Florida, Texas, and other jurisdictions.

 

He also served as outside counsel for The Atrium On The Bayshore Condominium Association and The Pinnacle Apartments, Inc., a Condominium Association.

 

Bob was the President of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and served on its board for many years.  While President of the HCBA, he authored a number of articles for the HCBA’s award winning, Lawyer magazine.

 

Currently, he is a member of the HCBA, member of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association, co-founder and Chair Emeritus of the HCBA’s Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, and former member of the Florida Bar’s Voluntary Bar Leadership Committee and former board member of the Ferguson-White American Inn of Court.

 

Bob was the recipient of the 2009 James M. “Red” McEwen Memorial Award for outstanding service to the HCBA as the creator, writer and director of its Law Day program, “An Evening with Abraham Lincoln and Friends”.  In 2011, he produced, co-wrote and directed the HCBA’s Law Day Symposium, “The Life and Times of John Adams”. For years, Bob was an active tenured cast member of the HCBA’s “Law Follies”.

 

In 2011, Bob had the distinct privilege of being inducted as the first Honorary Civilian Commander of the Judge Advocate General’s Office of the 6th Air Mobility Wing located at MacDill Air Force Base.  Through his efforts, a collaborative relationship has been forged between the HCBA and JAG Offices of both the 6AMW and CENTCOM.
